Hello and welcome!
My name is Johanna Abraham. I am a registered social worker, with a Masters degree in social work from the University of British Columbia. I have been practicing for twenty-five years and hope that I can be of help to you.
At the centre of my work with clients is the belief that all of life’s challenges, even the most difficult, if met with a committed, open and caring approach will lead to greater understanding, and eventually will come to enrich our lives. Whether we are facing trauma or just going about our daily lives we are constantly nudged from within by an imperative for personal growth and well-being. As a therapist, I see my role as a skilled assistant helping the client to hear their own wisdom, clarify their own goals, consider new perspectives and, restore their self-reliance. Together with my education, experience and strong intuition, I draw from a number of theoretical frameworks including Brief Solution Focused theory, Developmental Theory, Family Systems Theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Theory.
Please feel free to browse my website and to contact me with any questions.
